Overview

This course is designed to bridge the gap between theory and clinical reality. Conventional didactic implant courses emphasize on the essentials of Oral Implantology, however, such theoretical approach presents inadequacy of practical
experience with direct supervision of Certified Implantologists. The first ever course to integrate both surgical and restorative procedures on live patients.


Through this course, participants will receive competent practical experience in implantology and the opportunity to place 10-15 implants and assist in another 10-15 comprehensive operations. Course participants will have the option to participate in the restorative module where they are expose from implant exposure, impression taking to crown issuing on real patients. Upon completion of the course, course participants will be eligible for the pathway to obtain their fellowship from the International College of Oral Implantologist (ICO).

1 Day Restorative Module (Optional)

  • Implant Exposure, Impression & Crown Insert

  • CLosed Tray vs Open Tray Impression Technique

  • Abutment, Material & Design selection

  • Screw Retained vs Cement Retained Prostheses 

  • Occlusion

  • Management of bone lose around implants

Course Objectives

5 Days Surgical Module

  • Basic Implantation

  • Bone grafting & membrane placement

  • Treatment planning using CBCT

  • Basic Socket Preservation

  • Immediate Implant Placement

  • Bone Training

  • Each participant will place between 10 to 15 implants

  • Each participant will assist/observe between 10 to 15 implant surgeries

Dr. Dean Licenblat is currently principal clinician at Sydney Dental Aesthetics & Implants located in Martin Place Sydney. He has completed a master’s degree in oral implantology and bone grafting from Goethe University in Frankfurt and is up-to-date on the latest concepts and techniques. He has a teaching appointment from Goethe and is responsible for tutoring that university’s graduate students in Australia and New Zealand. Dean is the principal investigator for a prospective randomised clinical trial that, for the first time, is studying the hard and soft tissue response to both titanium and zirconia implants in a split-mouth design. Dr. Dean Licenblat has one of a few dental surgeries to be awarded ‘Leading Implant Centres
of the World’ in Australia.
